Licensing and permits

Owning a reptile or amphibian in Australia is often not a simple process. There are laws that govern what can and can't be kept and also if a license is required. These laws and license requirements vary from state to state.
Victoria
In Victoria, the Conservation Regulator operating within the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is responsible for the licensing of reptiles and amphibians as well as the keeping and trading of wildlife.
